Åskog took form during the early summer of 2020 by Adam and Lars after disbanding their previous band, Murdryck. A demo was quickly written and recorded and released onto the world in October 2020. After a brief, but effective, marketing campaign the demo quickly sold out of its initial cassette run of 50 pieces and ignited interest across the globe. Radio shows from the US were regularly playing the tracks and fans were inquiring about the demo tape long after it sold out. The demo reached the ears of Grind To Death Records in Sweden, who quickly offered a CD deal for a full-length album. The debut album contains eight powerful tracks of music carefully crafted to raise and lower the heartrate as if the listener were controlled by taught strings. The band proving masterful at playing blistering tempos or slowing down to a doomy pace. The tracks all somehow different offering variation but yet still coherent and uniform in style. Åskog take their influences from many different genres like heavy metal, black metal, doom metal and elements of death metal and have made a fresh and uniquely sounding album that has their new trademark sound all over it!
