Carnivora is back with the follow up to the debut-album ”Judas” from 2004. Quite a lot has happened since then, and the line-up has been renewed big time! Only guitarist Tore Moren and bassist Bjarne Torud is left. Out went vocalist Michael Eriksen (Circus Maximus), although he makes a guest appearance on the new album, and drummer Jan-Axel ”Hellhammer” Blomberg, who chose to fully concentrate on Mayhem and Dimmu Borgir. New faces is not necessary a bad thing, and for Carnivora it has meant a stronger unit, and for the first time they can be considered as a band where the members is fully committed. Tore Moren still offer his services to Arcturus and Jorn, although Carnivora is the main priority. Musical wise there is no revolution compared to Judas”, we’re still talking about melodic- and guitar based metal. The vocals fit the music much better now than on “Judas” and there is more identity in their music on this new album. The result on “Re-Incarnal” is 9 energetic and melodic songs, with high profile guitars. Of Norwegian bands only TNT can be put in the same category as Carnivora.
