Performed at the Jazz Workshop, Boston, MA on December 5th 1972, for broadcast on WBCN-FM radio, just a week after the release of his crossover classic Waves (1972) this gig sees Charles Lloyd pivot back to his transcendental brand of acoustic jazz in the company of his quartet featuring the excellent, if little known, guitarist Tom Trujillo. The music is led in equal parts by Lloyd’s Coltrane inspired sax and trademark meandering flute.
Charles Lloyd - saxophone, flute; Tom Trujillo - guitar; Sherman McKinney - bass; Woody 'Sonship' Theus - drums.
