In August 2022 work begun on creating the follow up to "Theory Of Tides" and this really started with deciding on the concept. The disaster at Chernobyl in the Ukraine in 1986 had always fascinated Steve, and over the last few years he has been able to visit the site of the world's worst Nuclear accident. Back in 2019 Dave also traveled to the site and it was clear that this would make a great subject for a concept album. A story to both lyrically and musically piece together the events that took place all those years ago, and the subsequent aftermath. As a band Compass have once again developed their sound, this has a darker and harder edged feel throughout the album, partly due to the subject matter, the thought provoking lyrics, and the more unusual chord structures and voicing.
