Deathcrush may not be bothered with anyone else’s rules, but has no qualms teaching others a lesson. Up until MEGAZONE- DEATHCRUSH’s first, full- length album (2019 )- came out to rave reviews, the renowned live band collaborated with celebrated engineers Billy Anderson (Sleep, Melvins, Swans) and Jørgen Træen (Susanne Sundfør, Motorpsycho, Annie), and recorded and released singles in bursts; one as a magazine incl. a Flexi Disc and rip out poster, others download codes presented in hats, art zines or hand painted CD casings (no actual CDs, mind you), and some grouped together on the 12inch Maxi Single “Skool’s in” that included a smashing remix by James Njie (Alan Walker, Steve Aoki, ISÁK) printed in 500 unique ex, all in different colours. These songs were eventually sneaked onto the web as “The Singles Series”, a collection or as documentation, not the expected debut album. And although neatly organised into lessons, the missing numbers in this list of lessons gives away the fact that there may still be lessons never recorded, or at least still not released.
