Following their 2021 debut De Rerum Natura, Italian atmospheric/melodic black metal duo Eard is back with their sophomore album, Melancholia. In the band's words, “Melancholia is a deeply introspective work exploring human experience, heavily influenced by the poetic tradition of Romanticism. A defining aspect of Eard is the atmosphere shaped by the strings of the celtic harp interwoven with wistful, evocative guitar melodies. Continuing the tradition initiated with their debut album, the music is enriched by the vocals of guest artists, including Saor’s mastermind Andy Marshall and Belgian multi-instrumentalist Déhà (SLOW, Déhà, Acathexis
and many more), who was featured in the previous album and returns this time to contribute to two tracks”.
