Revered as one of the groups that pioneered the heavy and abrasive mixture of metal and hardcore that has come to be know as "deathcore" – a genre that has recently reached new heights with releases by the likes of Suicide Silence, Despised Icon, Job For A Cowboy, White Chapel, The Acacia Strain and more – the South Caroline based THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD triumphantly return with "Skepsis", the group’s long awaited third full length.
Since signing to Prosthetic in 2005, THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD has soundscanned nearly 60,000 albums in the US alone and toured with a who’s who of heavy music, perhaps most notably as part of the now-legendary 2006 Sounds Of The Underground tour alongside In Flames, Trivium, Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse, GWAR, The Black Dahlia Murder, As I Lay Dying and more. The following year, the band embarked on a successful debut European tour with Dead To Fall and Ion Dissonance.
Unlike 2007’s "Malice" – which was produced by Hate Eternal mainman Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore) and yielded the hit video track “Failure In The Flesh”, voted #7 video of the year by MTV’s ‘Headbangers Ball’, THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD self-produced "Skepsis", the band’s first album with new vocalist Danny Rodriguez and guitarist Chris Henckel, at Gellar Cellar Studios in New York. The end result is unquestionably the heaviest and most personal THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD record yet. Whereas many bands opt for a more ‘mature’ or melodic sound as time passes, TTEOTD has done the complete opposite, as brutality, speed and aggression are the new dictators here. "Skepsis" irrefutably proves to even the most skeptical fan of heavy music that there’s still plenty of life left in THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD, and that the band should face little resistance reclaiming the genre they pioneered.
