Reissue of defining debut album from acclaimed Swiss avantgarde black metal titans SCHAMMASCH. Long unavailable, now remastered with completely new artwork.
Formed in 2009, Switzerland's SCHAMMASCH combine a cutting edge approach to modern black metal, articulating their extreme roots with doom-laden atmospherics and avantgarde structuring dredged with Hermetic mysticism. The band, whose name derives from the Babylonian / Akkadian sun god Samas, signed to Prosthetic in 2014 to release either epic double album "Contradiction" which Metal Hammer lauded as "One of the most overwhelming albums of the year...Cerebral and utterly absorbing".
Now Prosthetic proudly reissued Schammasch's 2010 debut opus "Sic Lvceat Lvx", which translates from Latin to "Let The Light Shine". Consisting of seven hypnotic, cinematic tracks, the album, which, has been long unavailable - being issued only as a limited cd throughout the Swiss underground – has been freshly remastered by V. Santura (Triptykon / Dark Fortress), with glorious new artwork by Valnoir (Behemoth, Alcest, Watain.)
