DESCRIPTION

GRIMNESS was founded by Valerio and Jonah (ex Solifuge drummer) as a two-man band in December 2001. Basically inspired by the Scandinavian Black Metal acts and the old school of Thrash Metal, they began their early group efforts. In the summer of 2002, 5 tracks were ready to be recorded… and finally were in October at The Outer Sound Studios of Rome, with Giuseppe Orlando and Massimiliano Pagliuso of NOVEMBRE handling the mix. The MCD "Dogma" was ready. In November 2002 another guitarist, Andrea Chiodetti (ex Spiritual Ceremony/Spiritual Front) joined the band as a session player, but he soon became a stable member making great contributions to both arrangements and composition. GRIMNESS made then a massive work in the underground circuit, with many live shows and the well acclaimed debut album “Increase Humanity Disgust” (2005). Moreover, in 2006, Andrea and Jonah, with memers of DOPE STARS INC, KLIMT 1918 and HOW LIKE A WINTER signed a deal with Candlelight for their projekt THE FORESHADOWING and the album “Day of Nothing”. In May/June 2007 GRIMNESS entered the recording studio to record the second full length “Trust in Decay” in the meantime of sharing the stage with acts such as ANATHEMA, VADER and DESTRUCTION.
