DESCRIPTION

With “Maar” THE EVPATORIA REPORT follow up with class to their first album “Golevka”. They keep the song structure tortuous and organic, creating paths leading to powerful and cathartic build up with an intense climax. The musical journey is at the same time relaxing and passionate. To reduce THE EVPATORIA REPORT to its influences would be a real mistake, because as time goes by, they emancipate themselves to a point that they can add other musical universes to their realm without looking back, and move away at the same time from some of their neo-classical influences. Western, rock, aerial, and always strictly instrumental, we can enjoy a copious and appetizing menu. Without any claim they contribute to creating a refreshing print of the whole post-rock thing with brilliance. Even though they may not revolutionize a genre that we thought was stuck and becoming a parody of itself, at least they give us a few hints of possible and interesting evolution, even if only at small doses. THE EVPATORIA REPORT was formed early 2002 in Yverdon (Switzerland). They released a self-produced EP in 2003, followed by their first album “Golevka” in 2005, that mainly due to good word of mouth contributed to putting the band on the table as one of Europe’s high hopes of post-rock music. They recorded their second album in 2007 at Rec Studio with Serge Morattel.
