An artist of quite stunning ability and one of the finest American songwriters of the era, the late Laura Nyro remains a sadly missed yet criminally underrated musical force.
Nyro achieved critical acclaim with her own recordings, particularly on the albums Eli And The Thirteenth Confession (1968), New York Tendaberry (1969), and Christmas And The Beads of Sweat (1970), but she additionally had commercial success with artists such as Barbra Streisand, Three Dog Night and The 5th Dimension – among others – who recorded her songs.
