In a land not so far away, the Midwest to be exact, there is a lonesome burgh known as Chicago. This Midwestern enclave is home to the threesome who call themselves The Lawrence Arms. This band of roving musicians who perform in the theme of punk rock, now bring forth what they call The Greatest Story Ever Told, their second full length album to be released on Fat Wreck Chords.
In true form, The Lawrence Arms lead the listener through a schizophrenic, alcohol induced musical adventure. Within this synthesis of high art and lowbrow comedy, the trio make lyrical reference (foot notes and all) to pop culture, the arts, and literature. Sticking with their time tested, two vocalist approach, Brendan belting out the gruff and abrasive side, while Chris dances around a fire of reserved melancholy, the band delivers yet another impassioned, and melodic punk rock album.
These guys are no strangers to the road, having toured nonstop since their inception. They will spread their message in your town, and you will be moved! (2003)
