On the afternoon of Saturday, June 2 1973 Led Zeppelin played to a crowd estimated at 49,300 in San Francisco’s Kezar Stadium, shattering the attendance record set by Grand Funk Railroad in 1971 and grossing well over $300,000. After a lengthy wait, the patient hordes were amply rewarded by a barnstorming performance covering many of their greatest songs to date.
