MIDWAY STILL were one of the finest and most respected bands of the early 90s – mainstays of the independent circuit, their initial “I Won’t Try” single and subsequent “Dial Square” and “Life’s Too Long” albums saw the band not only gain a huge following amongst music fans but also saw them critical acclaim in the music press. Once termed by the NME “the UK’s answer to NIRVANA” at the height of “Nevermind” fever, MIDWAY STILL dealt in buzzing, powerful punk-inspired pop that also brought comparisons to Husker Du, Dinosaur Jr, Lemonheads, and even The Beatles and The Byrds – all were there but the sound remained uniquely MIDWAY STILL.
Now, after a break (of a mere 17 years), MIDWAY STILL are back – and “NOTE TO SELF” sparkles with a collection of 12 brand new songs that will not only be enjoyed by their strong and committed fan base but will introduce the band to a whole new army of fans who will fall in love with their punk meets pop sensibilities.
This is quality music that is simply too good to ignore.
