Following the success of their 2022 debut "...And Then, The Abusement Park Left Town" Nekomata returns with their highly anticipated second album "EUPHORIA". Known for their unique "Power Core" combining Power Metal, Metalcore, Death Metal and Progressive elements--the Milan-based band takes their signature sound to the next level with this release. Formed by bassist Filippo Zavattari and guitarist Andrea Cappellari, Nekomata emerged from a shared love of diverse genres. Their goal was to create music that binds the best aspects of each--speed and melody from power metal, the modern production of metalcore, the aggression of death metal, progressive depth, and even the catchy vibes of pop music. With a sound described as angry, fast, melodic, violent and technical Nekomata continues to evolve and refine their artistry. "EUPHORIA" presents an ambitious journey, exploring the pursuit of happiness in its many forms. The album is not a concept album in the strictest sense, but the thematic thread tying each track together offers a cohesive experience for the listener. From social pressures to existential realizations, "EUPHORIA" tackles the futility of the endless chase for fulfillment with a darker, more cynical tone. "We believe everything fans loved about our first album will be loved even more this time around" explains vocalist Andrea Olivieri. "This is an 'harder, faster, stronger and better' version of our sound with each song polished to perfection." Unlike many modern metal acts, Nekomata prides themselves on replicating their studio recordings live, without relying on backing tracks or PA enhancements. "What you hear on the album is what you'll experience live--100%," says guitarist Andrea Cappellari. With influences ranging from Architects and Veil of Maya to Periphery, "EUPHORIA" is a testament to Nekomata's wide-ranging musical tastes and desire to deliver technical yet accessible music.
