FRANKLY MY DEAR, I DON'T GIVE A DAMN!

Petter Baarli might just be the most dedicated and hard working man in Norwegian music. For over 30 years he’s been the guitarist of legendary rockers Backstreet Girls, he plays with Valenoturettes, a tribute band for the late Norwegian rock legend Joachim «Jokke» Nielsen, he’s played an important part in a very successful play based on Jokke’s songs at Norway’s National Theatre in Oslo, and there’s been several exhibitions of his paintings.
This year, a documentary feature film about Petter and Backstreet Girls has been shown at movie theaters and film festivals both in Norway and internationally, winning awards and acclaim wherever it’s been shown. The movie, Backstreet Girls - Back To Muotathal», will be available on DVD shortly.
In addition to all this, he’s found time to launch a solo career. His first solo album «You Petter B. Goode» was released in 2014, receiving great reviews and massive media exposure, firmly underlining his status as an icon in Norwegian rock.
This year he releases the follow-up, titled «Frankly My Dear, I Don’t Give A Damn», a very suitable title for an artist who does everything his own way.
Appearing on the album are recent and former members of Backstreet Girls and other Norwegian rockers, in additon to a number of International rock & punk legends like Honest John Plain (The Boys) Casino Steel (The Boys, Hollywood Brats) Tenpole «Ed» Tudor, Dan Baird (The Georgia Satellites), Warner E. Hodges (Jason & The Scorchers) and Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols, Rich Kids).
The result is a number of hard rocking songs, nothing fancy or modern, just plain old rock’n’roll in the spirit of Petter Baarlis inspirations Chuck Berry, Angus Young and Keith Richards.
