Råhypnos is back and releases their second full-length "What is Real?". Critics have associated their dark alternative rock to both dark wave, neofolk and shoegaze. Despite the fact that the new record has a more stripped-down singer songwriter approach, you immediately hear that it is Råhypnos.
The album was recorded in a kitchen to try to create the feeling of sitting around the kitchen table and playing together and the sound is intimate and mostly acoustic.
On April 22, the first single "Starving Skin" was released, as well as the accompanying music video, on June 3rd the second single "I'll Bury You" and on September 9, the third single "Heart Full of Longing" was released with the accompanying music video.
Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, Råhypnos consists of Nadja Virgé and Pablo Rautenberg and was formed in 2015. The self-titled debut EP from 2016 was described by critics as dark indie mixed with modern pop. First full-length "Do We Wan't It?" from 2018 had a large soundscape of distorted guitars meeting electronic soundscapes. The new album "What is real?" has a dark atmosphere, characterized by dreamy vocals, acoustic guitars, warped flutes and synths and heavy accordion.
For live concerts, the band has invited exciting musicians from various bands, including URAN GBG. When they opened for King Dude at Musikens hus in Gothenburg 2019, there were a total of 7 people on stage.
