TRACK LIST

S.B.V. - SILENT BUT VIOLENT - a name that somewhat contradicts the music and message of the band it's used to describe. Raw Nerve, their debut LP on Mankind Records, is 14 tracks of hardcore/punk that musically echoes the anger and rage of early '80s acts such as BAD RELIGION, 7 SECONDS and UNIFORM CHOICE, making them anything but "silent." And with intelligent and thought-provoking lyrics, S.B.V. are also the furthest thing from "violent," as the topics they cover lend themselves towards a thematic whole that is ultimately paranoid, frightened and critical of the world around us. "Maidens And Machines" takes a wild trip into the world of modern technology and its effects on the treatment of women in our society. "Nothing Else Is On" tackles reality television and how it has the potential to lead towards an eventual camera on every corner and greater control over our actions. "Walking On Eggshells" begs listeners to be careful what they say and who they say it to. If S.B.V. had been a band from the ‘80s, they would likely have had a song on a BYO compilation, a 7" on Positive Force and an LP on Wishingwell. And while one foot may be firmly planted in the sounds of their influences, the other makes efforts to take steps into an unknown future. It’s their combination of sharp lyrical wit and melodic musical chops thrown into the manic fray that will keep S.B.V. relevant in the years to come.
