TEARS OF THE SUN

After finishing the successful third Time Requiem Record “Optical Illusion” Richard decided to take some time off during spring 2006. By a coincidence Richard and Magnus met up in the studio early May just to jam around. They early started to compose for the third Space Odyssey record. Since Magnus also had some time off Richard decided they both should do the record together. Working full time together during May creating the songs was a brilliant concept. This time Richard wanted a very down to basic record with no progressive touch at all. He wanted to separate the music very much to Time Requiem.
 The result is a great mix between late Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Rainbow and Malmsteen. Since the vocalist Patrik Johansson was not able to do the recordings that fast, at the same time as he was busy with his own band Richard found a new awesome singer. The new singer David Freman is in the Swedish band Andromeda and lives near by. Very suitable for a close relationship. David was invited to the material and the recordings started immediately.
 9 killer songs with vocals that will impress every single fan of melodic hardrock out there were created in Richards Lipton Studio from May to July 2006. The record was mixed and mastered by Richard in his studio. He even did the cover artwork by himself.  The record was titled “Tears of the Sun”.
Jörg Andrews who also lives very close to Richards home was invited to do the drum tracks. Since he is that steady and tight as a drummer the recordings went very fine. The most satisfying and funniest thing around the recordings was the bass playing. Richard already knew Magnus is a brilliant bass player but this time the bass must be very heavy and steady. The result can be heard on the record over and over again.
 So! Basically these four great musicians created a record which can satisfy a wide spectrum of listeners.
