Beginning in April 2008, yes, this year. Symphony Cult was formed with five members eager to play music for the same reasons - because they share a great passion for it. Charlotte Lubbock (lead singer) moved from Colchester to attend the prestigious Brit School in Croydon. With an impressive classical singing background and a great sense of ambition, versatility and drive she found another musician with a very similar outlook and repertoire just weeks into the Brit School music course, John Lovell (lead guitarist). Also classically trained, he had much experience in performing, sessioning and teaching and they found a good musical vibetogether. They soon began searching for the right band members for the new sound. Barney Cushman (second guitarist) had seen an ad, then came the determined creative Jack Slade (drummer), and Chris Smith (bass player), who had been working together for the past two years on band projects in Kent, and with one discussion and a quick jam, it was immediately decided that this would be Symphony Cult. Symphony Cult are now touring across the UK whilst writing their debut album, prior to recordings in Hanover, Germany, January 2009.
