WANTON THOUGHT hailed from Mold in North Wales and existed from 1988-1991, in which time they left the world with a solitary kick ass 7” EP as well as a handful of other tracks that remained unreleased – until now, two decades later! A lost gem, the band split up in 1991 just at the point of recording their debut album, which was planned on the back of heavy rotation for the 7” on the John Peel Show at the time. Hugely influenced at the time by the likes of SNUFF, HDQ and INSTIGATORS, the entire recorded output by the band has been compiled onto CD for the first time as part of the acclaimed Boss Tuneage Retro Series. Apart from the 7” tracks, “Lost” also originally appeared on the “Floor 81” comp LP, and “Normal School Day” appeared on Meantime Records “Spleurk 2” comp LP – all other tracks were never released, including arguably the bands finest moment “In The Glue”. Digitally remastered and with liner notes from drummer/vocalist Craig Williams, these archive recordings are a must for all fans of UK melodic hardcore punk
