TRACK LIST

Waylon Jennings was an influential American country music singer. He moved to Nashville in 1965He moved in with Johnny Cash, this was the start of a lasting friendship. Jennings was well known for his need to be different and for insisting his music would never resemble the pop music coming out of Nashville in the 60’s and 70’s. He was a vital performer in the outlaw country music movement, rejecting all pop conventions. Jennings career really took off in the 70’s and he was known as a superstar to the mainstream pop audiences as well as the country audiences. He recorded a number of successful hits, such as “This time” and “I’m A Rambling Man” (1974) both reaching number one. He also released a number of popular duets, with Willie Nelson, including the multi-platinum “Waylon and Willie” (1978). Over the course of the late 70’s and early 80’s Jennings achieved ten number one hits. In the mid-80’s Jennings formed a successful group called the Highwaymen. The group consisted of himself, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. In 1998, Jennings formed the “Old Dogs”, with him was Jerry Reed and Mel Tillis. The Old Dogs released a double album, as well as a greatest hits album. Jennings was inducted in to the country music hall of fame, in October 2001, and sadly passed away three years later in 2002. Waylon Jennings still remains a country legend.
