DESCRIPTION

Still receiving five star reviews in all the right places almost 50 years into the most extraordinary career of the rock age, Bob Dylan is an artist who never fails to stagger his audience. But even this most unorthodox of performers wrote the songs and released the music most consider to be his finest, within 5 years of first signing a deal. This DVD/CD package both examines and celebrates this first part of Bob Dylan’s career.

THE DVD

Venturing back into his childhood and formative years to discover the roots of the man who changed music forever, the film continues through his early Greenwich Village period, onto his worldwide recognition, and culminating with the 1966 world tour and his escape from the limelight. Featuring exclusive interviews with school friends and teachers, the guitarist in his first band, Village associates and musicians plus British folk icon Martin Carthy, Mickey Jones - drummer on the ’66 world tour - and biographers Clinton Heylin, C.P. Lee and Isis editor Derek Barker. Also includes rare performance footage, archive interviews, location shoots, seldom seen photographs and a host of other features.

THE CD

Featuring press conferences given by Dylan and recorded in late 1965 in LA and San Francisco, this collection also includes the full recording of the infamous Martin Bronstein interview undertaken with Bob in Canada in 1966.
