Earth-Sick Mind is the debut full-length from California doom rock unit DUSTED ANGEL. Set for official release via Mankind Records November 9th, the album explodes with DUSTED ANGEL’s patented, crushing, doom-groove crossover, as previously heard on last year’s self-titled 7” EP, released on Corruption Recordings and distributed by Relapse. Recorded in March 2010 by Billy Anderson (MELVINS, NEUROSIS, SLEEP), the basic tracking for Earth-Sick Mind was completed at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California. Additional tracking was completed at Different Fur and later mastered by Justin Wiess at Trakworx, both located in San Francisco. The end result is a straightforward, yet soulful, organic rock record, jammed full of memorable hooks and lyrics, and with no shortage of massive riffs. DUSTED ANGEL formed in 2008 by several longtime Santa Cruz area friends, some of whom previously did time together in other area bands, most notably skatecore/surfrock warriors Bl’ast!. Other acts in DUSTED ANGEL’s resume include GARGANTULA, SPACEBOY and several other Bay Area bands. Since early 2008, the band has been rocking their way through California and up and down the West Coast, playing alongside FU MANCHU, NEBULA, SAVIOURS, SAINT VITUS, CROM, THE ACCUSED, BLACK COBRA, LUDICRA and countless others since their inception. With major plans coming together in advance of the release of the record and to take place throughout the rest of 2010 and beyond, this is just the beginning for this crew of ultra-hungry doom rock providers.
