Chicago hardcore is once again making a soaring and triumphant return with the release of another defining album, Stampede, from FEW AND THE PROUD. In the spirit of fast, pissed-off, meaningful, straight edge hardcore, FEW AND THE PROUD bring us their debut full-length that showcases their undeniable ability to stir up the perfect mix of JUDGE, INTEGRITY, SLAPSHOT, and BLACKLISTED and turn it into a sound all their own. FEW AND THE PROUD formed in Chicago during 2005 with the intention of playing local shows, hanging out with friends, and just doing what they love. After a few local shows, word of mouth on FEW AND THE PROUD’s boisterous live shows spread like wildfire and the demand for the band to tour grew stronger. No strangers to the road as the band features past and present members of EXPIRED YOUTH, PLAN OF ATTACK, and WEEKEND NACHOS, FEW AND THE PROUD packed up and did weekend tours. FEW AND THE PROUD carry a very positive message to kids that are being bombarded daily by a culture that glorifies addiction and self-destruction. The band hit the studio in February of 2006 in Chicago with friend/engineer Pete Grossman (LEFT HAND PATH) at Big Gold Studios. The end result is Stampede, which is a raucous and anthemic hardcore album with thought provoking and inspiring lyrics that touch on life matters, friendship, addiction, and the straight edge lifestyle. Stampede is a debut album that is chock full of pure aggression and raw emotion. Combining grassroots credibility and vicious camaraderie, FEW AND THE PROUD is helping to carry the torch for Chicago’s burgeoning straight edge hardcore scene and putting the “second city” back on the map. Hardcore hasn’t felt this visceral, menacing, and uncompromising in a long time.
