Eyes Alive is the group’s second full-length and first new album since 2010 debut Orogeny. Like that previous work, there is a cohesive concept throughout the songs. Speaking on that concept, Nick Forkel (guitar/vocals) revealed “Eyes Alive takes place in a future where the sun is a red giant and most people are forced to live underground. It follows one man’s life in this society from when he first discovers what’s been hidden
from him, up to his final days and the hard journey he had to take in-between. It’s definitely a science fiction piece with institutions, acid cults, and a decimated earth.”
Since Orogeny, which was initially an independent album and then re-issued by Ironclad Recordings (Early Graves, Full Blown Chaos), the group has slimmed down from a quintet to a trio. Turbid North is now Forkel, Chris O'Toole (Bass/Vocals) and Jono Garrett (Drums). Eyes Alive was a completely DIY effort, recorded, mixed and mastered by Forkel at his Black Ram Studios.
